Begin slowly and gradually increase the time and intensity of activity.

A proper warm-up and cool-down after physical activity allows the body to recover, and stretching will improve the flexibility of muscles and can decrease muscle soreness.

Staying properly hydrated before, during and after physical activity is also a key component to prevent dehydration and achieve peak performance.

Inappropriate Energy Balance (Calorie Mismatch):

Calories are to your body what gasoline is to a car — fuel.

Calories are important to keep your organs functioning, muscles moving and metabolism blazing.

If you eat too many calories, then you may increase your risk of certain health conditions such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

If you eat too few calories, then you may increase your risk of certain other health conditions such as anorexia, anaemia and bone loss.
